Entering the 16th week…

Category : Pregnancy

A little family update here at the Tidd Ranch….

Thing 3 or the wee itty bitty one or “I’m just going to believe it’s a girl”:

How far along? 16 weeks – confirmed due date of July 14

Weight gain/loss: I’ve been a “told” by my doctor that I’ve lost a pound since last time.  So the last few days I’ve tried to make up for that…..  This is all really weird to be told it’s bad that I’ve lost a pound when I’ve been working at that for the last 3 years.

Symptoms: No nausea anymore, food aversions a minimum now, a bit tired but not as bad as the first trimester.  I’ve had consistent headaches which is very odd for me both pregnant and not, but was instructed to drink Mt. Dew or Coke for the caffeine.  Ok!  :)

Gender: We officially decided (since that’s what we’re telling people now) that we are not finding out.  Gary’s banking on the fact that he’s going to be way outnumbered.  I’m still up in the air as I’ve had some different symptoms than before but this pregnancy is just way different all the way around this time.

Sleep: Just getting up with sickly little girls throughout the night, other than that, super!

Best moment this week: A sick day for Anna but we had a nice day together with a little shopping and ice cream therapy to soothe her strep throat.

Movement: Nothing yet but he/she should soon!

Food cravings/aversions: Sweets/salty foods, pizza, anything with red sauce – craving / Mexican food beyond tacos – aversion

What I am looking forward to: Having healthy girls again this week.  Ended the week with Anna and strep and started the new week with Izzy and a fever.  Also Anna is going to be such a little mommy.  On our shopping excursions, she wanted to buy the baby a Mickey Mouse onsie in blue.  I said well we don’t know what it’s going to be.  She said well it’s a boy now.  Hehe.  She also wanted to buy the baby a card.  So sweet.

Milestones: Preparing the move the girls together so we can start getting their new room together!

What I’m nervous about: So far, not too nervous about much

Size of baby in food: Avocado, 4.5″ long and 3.5 ounces

Happy Birthday Squeaky McGee!

So I’m a little late for a birthday shout out to my littlest lady but it’s better late than never!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our cuddly, neat freak complete with all doors and drawers need to be fully shut and toys in their place, Little People playing, just needs some alone time, food lovin’, excited to be a big sister (and continue to be the little sister to the leader of a big sister) this month!  You were an wonderful surprise and addition to our family 3 years ago and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Izzy-beller is a spit-fire and fun along with stubbornness but we are so excited to see what this next year brings for you as you transition to the middle child, sharing a room with your not so neat-nick sister, hopefully finish this potty training stuff and take on the ranks in the fall as the big sister of the house.

We love you baby girl!

Daddy, Mommy & Anna

Isabella Clara – the wee one born in a blizzard

I am one!  And more hair than my sister!

And why are interrupting me eating my birthday cake?  I’m two today!

I am 3 years old today!  And I look like a little kid now instead of a toddler.  Sniff sniff.

Oh I give up…

Category : Anna, Isabella

So yesterday I didn’t win any parent of the year award but I was able to refocus my frustrations and made some changes.  My dear sweet Isabella (side note: who’s middle name should have been “Pay Attention”) has given me grief lately in regards to discipline.  She almost laughs at me when I’m at my angriest with her.  Yesterday, she even pulled a monkey face when I was sternly talking to her.  Nothing phases this girl.  Except daddy.  I thought for the longest time Anna and I would butt heads (ok, give that one time) as we’re so alike and Izzy and I would be able to work it out.  Nope.  Ok, so she’s not quite 3 and that’s a big assumption, but right now it’s how I feel.

Yesterday, I put them down for a “nap”.  The term nap is used loosely with these 2.  Izzy needs a nap and refused to take one on occasion.  She sings, grabs books off her shelf, turns on her light and plays, removes things from her room and loudly shuts the door.  Yelling does no good, spankings don’t do so much but removing everything from her room is a little bit humbling for her.  Then she has to earn back to her toys into her room and be able to play with them again.  But she needs to nap as she’s so crabby after dinner and crashes almost immediately when we put her down at night.  So I refuse to give in to this little goob and she will nap.  She will!

Miss Anna on the other hand, is like her parents.  She doesn’t need a nap.  She proves that by not napping and then being able to stay up till 10 without being a crab.  It’s truly is scary how similar we are.  So yesterday, I was on the phone and she was calling me in a normal tone for about 4-5 “mommy’s”.  Then all of a sudden she starts to scream it.  Then Izzy joins in.  My phone call was about done and I ran up to their room and (this is where no awards were handed out) I screamed back.  I was so angry.  So after I cooled down, talked to Gary about it, I returned to them.  Calmly, we started doing lots of chores.  :)  Mommy switched her tone and they started to understand.

They cleaned their rooms (one had to empty hers, again), sorted and hung up laundry, put away laundry, gather garbage, put some other things away, were told only one thing goes in bed with them (not a zoo or a daycare), no stories at bedtime, no books in bed and they were going to bed early.

So with all that said.  Naps are still on for the stubborn, almost 3 year old as I know she needs it.  Nap time for Thing 1 will be quiet time where she can read and play quietly in her room till her alarm goes off and hopefully the “mommy” calling will cease and she won’t have to nap “because I don’t like naps” when she doesn’t need one.

White flag has been waved.

And baby makes 3….

It’s been a long time coming to post this.  We’ve had a rough year trying to expand our family but God had perfect timing for us.  He brought us through 2 miscarriages last December and in July, but we are on the path to the third (and we think final) Tidd.  I hope to update our blog more regularly again, make some improvements, include more pictures and videos of the little ladies and also keep you up to date on the progress of the Itty Bitty Wee One.  So with that said, here’s a little questionairre I hope to use a guide through this journey (and hopefully a lot of other fun posts from crafts, to house stuff, to how Gary and I are and a lot more)!

How far along? 13 weeks – due right around July 14!

Weight gain/loss: I’m remaining stable with my couple pound fluxuation – around 186

Symptoms: Just got over feeling nauseous for the last 6 weeks or so along with being really tired during that time, but the nausea is gone and tiredness is less!

Gender: Everything feels the same so far, but it’s too early to make a guess.  Either way, we’ll be finding out on the big day!

Sleep: No problems there!

Best moment this week: Had an awesome day from cleaning to crafting with the girls, we had a lot of fun!

Movement: Nothing yet

Food cravings/aversions: Sweets/salty foods, pizza, anything with red sauce – craving / Mexican food beyond tacos – aversion

What I am looking forward to: Getting the ok on Anna’s chipped molar, seeing the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor on whether we can get Anna’s tonsils out, celebrating Izzy’s 3rd birthday this weekend!

Milestones: Feeling motivated to start doing stuff again

What I’m nervous about: So far, not too nervous about much

This is how we told all of our family and friends this time around.  It was so fun to watch everyone read it, re-read it and finally get it!  Click on the image for a larger version.

Next up, how we told the girls, our conversations since then and a thanks to our insurance.  :)
